INTERNATIONAL SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMThe International Satellite Communications System is composed of two systems for data delivery via satellite. The first system is the World Aviation Forecast System (WAFS) which supports the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) program for aviation data distribution. The second is a Global Telecommunication System (GTS) satellite system which will replace the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Caribbean and Central America current distribution and collection systems for Region IV and further the development of the GTS as a whole. All ISCS subsets are available in a single file as: These files represent the state of all ISCS subsets as of .ISCS Text Data Stream - Comprised of bulletins containing textual data. The directory subset is available as:
ISCS GRIB Data Stream - Comprised of bulletins containing gridded binary data. The directory subset is available as:
ISCS Facsimilie Data Stream - Comprised of bulletins containing facsimilie data. The directory subset is available as:
ISCS Buffer Data Stream - Comprised of bulletins containing buffer data. The directory subset is available as:
AWIPS/NOAAPort DATA TRANSMISSIONAWIPS is an integrated suite of automated data-processing equipment that will be deployed to NWS Field Offices and National Centers to support complex analysis, interactive processing, display of hydro-meteorological data, and the rapid dissemination of warnings and forecasts in a highly reliable manner. These sites will be supported by the AWIPS Communications Nework. A Wide-Area-Network will connect sites for multi-point to point and point-to-point communications. NOAAPort provides the communications capability, via a satellite broadcast network, to afford internal and external users open access to much of NOAA's centrally-collected and produced real-time environmental data. AWIPS hardware platforms and supporting communications infrastructure have been designed and sized to accommodate planned future development. The NOAAPort broadcast system provides a one-way broadcast communication of NOAA environmental data and information in near-real time to NOAA and external users. This broadcast service is implemented by a commercial provider of satellite communications utilizing C-band. All AWIPS/NOAAPort bulletins are available in a single file as:
EMERGENCY MANAGER'S WEATHER INFORMATION NETWORKThe Emergency Manager's Weather Information Network (EMWIN) provides access to weather and other critical emergency information. EMWIN is available to internal and external users via radio, internet, and satellite. All EMWIN bulletins are available in a single file as:
